Career Roadmap
The Architecture of Your Career
Every great structure in the world is built on a solid foundation. Your career is the thing you are building and it requires the same step-by-step approach to achieve success. We have helped many entry level people with only basic skills grow into leadership positions in our company and we can help you, too. It is to our advantage to help you develop to your fullest potential, of course, but no one benefits more than you do. Our Performance Management System is career focused and designed to help you and your manager refine your strengths and give you new avenues of learning to help you improve your weaknesses. You will have every opportunity to ask, "What more can I do to grow?" and not just at review time. We empower our people and therefore want them as invested in the organization and motivated to contribute to its success. Opportunity exists here for you to cross train and test your knowledge and step into new roles that progress from the ones you've mastered. Most importantly, remember that while you are building a career, you are also building a life. We want it to be the best possible of both.
On-boarding
We want our employees to have a plan of attack and be engaged from day one on the job. To ensure this takes place, we have developed an on-boarding program to guide you through your first year. Many organizations believe the on-boarding process to be a one-day event. Here at Manna, it's simply not the case. Our program is not overly formal but we offer substance that addresses serious issues effectively, and do it in a manner that is interactive and fun. We want to be absolutely sure that you feel welcomed, valued and prepared for what lies ahead for your career success.
First Day
Your first day will include delivering all the basic information, including a tour of our facilities, introductions to key staff and review of all new employee paperwork. There is often a lot of information to cover and absorb. And we know that too much of it can inundate you, so be assured we will reinforce critical information throughout your on-boarding experience.
First Week
During your first week of employment, we will provide more detailed information and reinforce key points delivered previously. At this point, you will have a solid understanding of the organization's mission, vision and values and how you will align and contribute to the organization. "What is expected of me?" is answered within this first week. A human resource professional, your supervisor, your mentor or some combination of them will check in with you to determine how you are adjusting and whether the organization is delivering on promises made. This will also serve as an early opportunity for you to air any concerns.
First Month
During the first month of employment, we will continue to reinforce key issues and introduce you to additional staff, including key members of the leadership team. Having an understanding of how performance is managed, measured and reviewed is as critical to you as it is to us. Every organization operates in different ways. We address how to get things done through an overview of work processes, work flows, departmental structures and informal "rules of the road." Work behaviors and standards of etiquette are laid out clearly. We will also check in to determine whether your questions and concerns are being addressed.
First Year
The on-boarding process will continue by providing a touchback to you to ensure that all necessary information has been shared and that the organization is addressing your questions and concerns. Throughout your first year, your manager is heavily involved and part of your on-boarding process. We recognize that the relationship with the manager is one of the most significant in an employee's work life. The manager will be accountable to enable and inspire you to deliver better results faster on the job. This gets accomplished through a number of ways: on-going coaching and feedback, assigned mentor, rotational assignments or special projects and resources necessary to perform your job.
